For those of you in California who are just hopping onto the AB 793 train, let’s take a quick recap on what the new law is and what it means for us. (Check out our previous blog posts for more detailed information on the bill)
Here’s what we know so far:
By 2030 50% of plastic beverage containers will need to be PCR
For every pound outside of compliance with the new regulation a fine of $0.2 will be placed against the manufacturer
There are limited, if any, existing options for manufacturers to get a hold of PCR solutions
What should you do?
If you’re in the camp of plastic manufacturers who are at a loss for how to change up your processes to meet the standards introduced by AB 793, you might be relieved to learn that CLP is here to help! We are currently in the process of onboarding our plastic pelletizer, which will enable us to provide you with 100% post-consumer plastic pellets for your manufacturing needs.
Depending on your necessary feedstock form factor, CLP is there to help make this transition as smooth as possible. We already offer our post-consumer U-HIPS filament in 1.75mm and 2.85mm in varying weight sizes for manufacturers who use additive manufacturing in their processes. And if any of our current specs don’t meet your needs, we’d be happy to work with you to find what fits best.
And for those who use flake in their extrusion, we’ve got you covered there too. U-HIPS flake is already available for purchase.
Just fill out our custom order form and let us know what you need:
Not only will our post-consumer feedstock products meet the AB 793 post-consumer requirements, but they will also be an easy drop-in replacement for existing non-recycled plastic material, and won’t come at a premium just for being post-consumer. Because we want anyone and everyone to make the switch, not just because of legal requirements, but because it’s the right thing to do (and it should be just that easy).
How can you get your hands on some CLP PCR pellets?
We know you’re excited to be part of our closed-loop economy, we are too! While we’re still in the process of developing our pellet product so that we can give you high quality feedstock material, be sure to stay up to date with our progress by filling out the interest form below:
